• GST charge in regards to Commercial Vehicle Rental and Transport

Hi,
I run a Pvt Ltd company which contracts with companies for supplying of LCV (Light commercial vehicle) for city transportation through out the year. We have a fleet of 10 vehicles of our own, additionally we aggregate from the market as well from unregistered/local vehicle owners. I am not sure if my services come under GTA as we do not issue a consignment note, because we dont take the onus of the goods.
I am currently charging 18% GST but some companies are claiming that GST is not applicable for road transportation.
Please advice what possible we could do in this case.

Dear Sir,

You are liable to GST as you are providing vehicles to company for transportation against rent. You are not acting as GTA.

GST is not applicable to truck owners. As you are not issuing consignment note, your services don't come under GTA.
