• TamilNadu State Government Employee called for enquiry

I am from Tamil Nadu. Please help me with the below question.

A state government employee from tamil nadu who is a senior had approved many cheques by mistake as 5 of their lower employees has already signed it before coming to him. The Senior employee did not do it on purpose or for his own benefit. But by mistake when the count was more. Now all the six has been called for enquiry by government. The senior employee is 60 and is retired. He did not get all of his retirement benefits due to this and now called for enquiry. The senior employee has accepted that he did it by mistake. He has never got bribery in his whole career but have been caught here since he didn't verify all cheques. I dont justify it. but he didn't use it for the own purpose and government knows about it. Now what would be the action taken against the 60 year old. Is there any chances to have positive action.

I am sorry for the senior employee who got into problems for no fault of his. In organisations, we have to take responsibility for the acts of omissions and commissions by our sub-ordinates. This is not an issue relating to audit but it relates to law. Hence, you may post this query in the legal forum at www.kaanoon.com, hosted by the same portal and get solutions for the problem.

I wish him all the best in overcoming his problem.
