Hii
File Itr u/s 44AD using code 17006 for safer side because almost all professions have specific degree / diploma but for coaching that’s not required although by coaching we make professionals
I manage small coaching class where my income is nearly 5.5 lacs and it is nearly 70 percent of gross income. i want to file itr 4 as profession under 44 ADA. If i choose code 17006 which is for tutions then it is not profession. Should i file under 44 AD with code 17006 or under ADA with code 16019 which is other professions ? Please suggest.

last year, first I filed code 705 under section 44ADA, got defective return with error code 89 saying that 705 is not for profession. So i changed it to 607 which was finally accepted.. This year codes are changed. So should it be 16089 under 44ADA or 17006 under 44Ad or 17006 under 44ADA
Hi
Being a provider of coaching class services, your Profession is not eligible for claiming presumptive taxation under section 44ADA.
Also, it's not a business but a profession, so even 44AD cannot be opted for.
File a normal return showing all your incomes and expenses. You are not eligible for presumptive taxation.
Hi,
Hope you are doing well !
It is not covered u/s 44ADA as well as 44AD.
You need to file normal return showing all your income and expenses as you are not eligible for presumptive taxation .
Thanks & Regards,

The activity of conducting coaching class does not fall under the category of professions specified under section 44ADA of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Your case does not all under the specified profession so in such case you may opt for section 44AD with code 17006. However care may be taken that income is to be considered as actual or 8% of gross receipts whichever is higher.
There are certain profession u/s 44AA can use section 44ADA as coaching is not therein as per law section 44ADA not apply in your case you can use section 44AD.
Dear Sir,
Commercial coaching service is not covered under 44ADA.
The following are considered as professionals who can make use of this Section:
1. Legal
2. Medical
3. Engineering
4. Architectural Profession
5. Profession of Accountancy
6. Technical Consultancy
7. Interior Decoration
So you can not take 44ADA.
You can use section 44AD for filing your ITR.
Warm Regards,
Karishma Chhajer
you have to file return in form no ITR-4 SUGAM
YOU HAVE TO SHOWN INCOME UNDER SECTION 44AD UNDER THE CODE 17006
COACHING AND TUITION IS NOT PROFESSIONAL IT IS NORMALLY BUSINESS
Tution income is not covered under Sec 44 ADA and even 44AD will not be applicable to you. You will have to file normal return disclosing all incomes and eligible expenses. Please get in touch for any further clarifications.

Nikhil.
Hi,
Coaching center is not under ELIGIBLE profession list and accordingly not eligible for section 44ADA. Further, since its a profession and not business, you are not eligible for section 44AD as well.
You should file ITR under normal provisions of the income tax act. You should file ITR 3.
Since its profession but its not covered under specified profession mentioned for opting 44ada.
Its advisable to file normal tax return .Use Itr 3 for the same.
For coaching class then use code 17006 and you can show income under section 44AD and not under 44ADA.
Dear Sir,
Only professionals as defined under section 44ADA can file return under section 44ADA.
Coaching class is not a profession listed under section 44ADA.
Hence you will have to file return under section 44AD where you need to disclose a minimum profit of 8% if the receipts are in cash or @6% if the receipts are routed through bank.
W.R.T to code, you need to use 17006 as it is a specified service as provided by income tax act.
16019 is for the services which are not specified elsewhere.
Concluding, you need to file ITR-4 under section 44AD using code 17006.
Hope this resolves your queries.
