Yes certainly you can get. As per section 54F you can get benefit of exemption by buying a house if at the time of claiming exemption under section 54F you owned only 1 more house other than the new house and as you are saying you are owning one house received from ancestors you can claim exemption under 54F by buying a new house.

If you want any other information relating to exemption you can get a consultation session.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you

If the house you intend to purchase is your second house then deduction can be claimed under section 54F. Inheritance of the house does not make any difference in your position.

If you are owning 2 house already then you can't claim benefit under section 54F. It doesn't matter if the house is purchased or inherited, if you are owning the house then you can't buy the 3rd one.

In my opinion, in such a case, 54F benefit can't be claimed.

Hi,

Since, you own more than once houses, you won't be eligible for section 54F.

Alternatively, you can use section 54EC
