• Working in 2 companies at same time ,PF and Tax liability

Hi ,
I would like to like to know can i have 2 active PF/Membership account with two different companies active at same time?.
I am working as full time employee in company a and remote job in company B,
Both of them will give PF benefits and have TDS ,I would like to know is it legal to have two active epf accounts at same time.

Hi,

 

As per the law at the time of registration under PF itself, there is one UAN number which is allotted to you. That is a Unique number given against the PAN of every individual applying.

 

In such case, there cannot be two registrations that can be done. Secondly, to claim the benefits of PF contribution with two or more companies, you will have to share the same UAN number with the other company also where in they can record the contribution. 

 

Hence both the companies can extend you the benefits of PF but on the same PF account.

Dear sir

since u have 2 epf account that means u have 2 UAN as well.

u can get ur EPF account transferred from one to another and get ur previous UAN deactivated. 
so u can also transfer ur epf of one employer to other.

& inform the other employer ur UAN NO then they will deduct ur pf on that UAN ONLY.

I think you can have two UAN number and there is no issue in same as many people when they shift their job they open new PF account rather than carrying the same EPF account.

You can even merge two UAN number later.

It isn't allowed. However, there is a possibility where two UAN numbers have been allotted through two different employers. You need to get them merged.

A person can’t work as a whole time employee in 2 company but he can work in 1 company as full time & in other company as part time.

in ur case u are a part time employee in other company. So u can have 2 pf account under single UAN

but u need to keep in mind that Becoz u have 2 pf account under single UAN then there are chances that pf department will look into ur account 

what u need to do Is that u need  to have appointment letter of both company showing as par time time & full time employee. So that if any query arises u can show it to them.

my second opinion is that u can talk to ur employer & if possible then u can show ur part time job as consultancy & and ask ur employer to deduct TDS.

I dont dont  its possible to have two jobs at the same time. Even your employment letter will not permit this.

 

I am not expert in PF matter so cant comment about it.
