NRI looking to provide freelance IT consulting services

I am an NRI (holding an OCI card), working in Australia. I'm planning to provide freelancing IT consulting services for a UK based organisation from India. I don't currently have any business registered in India.

Queries:

1. Is it feasible to do this legally without registering a company?

2. Can I use my NRO account to collect Fees? If yes, what could be tax issues?

3. What are the GST, income tax, and professional tax implications, if money is deposited in an NRO account and How can I pay it? Currently, I do not have any other income in India.

4. Are there any other taxes e.g. service tax etc I need to consider (assuming total revenue is > 20 lacs per year)?

5. How do I provide an invoice to the client as an individual?

1. What is reason for providing this service from India if you are situated in Australia?

2. Without registering a company or any entity I don't think it is possible to provide such service from India as you are situated outside India.

3. Yes you can collect amount in NRO account. Regular taxes at slab rate needs to be paid.

4. First you need to plan what kind of entity you want to open in India.

5. Other than the taxes mentioned in point 3 of question as of now no other tax is there.
