• HRA not included in form 16

I got a letter from IT department to file returns for FY2012-2013. The TDS of approx Rs.33000 was deducted for Rs.52532. i have paid House reent of Rs.96000 in that year and I had earned Rs.38000 from trading in stock markets. How do i file e-return. No optionavailable to deduct House rent under section 10. Please help

First you need to calculate your income. If you have not considered HRA in Form 16 then you need to get breakup of salary to arrive at calculation of HRA.

After that you file the return and give answer to the notice.

Dear Sir,

On the basis of the information provided by you, it appears that TDS was deducted on your part and No IT returns were filed because of which you have received a notice from the IT Department.

Then you have to file a return first and then inform the department about the same.

If you are sure that there is a refund then you can very well claim a refund too.
